Curriculum

At Cherry Lodge, we believe that every child is a unique learner, and our curriculum is designed to nurture their individual needs while providing a broad and balanced education. Our approach blends structured activities with opportunities for spontaneous exploration, ensuring that learning is both engaging and effective.

Toddlers (2 to 3 years)

As children grow, so do their needs and interests. In the toddler room, our curriculum encourages independence and social skills while continuing to foster a love for learning.

We provide a rich variety of activities, including role play, musical exploration, and creative arts, all designed to enhance their language skills, coordination, and social interactions.

The room is split into distinct areas, including a cosy nap space and a play zone filled with safe climbing equipment and foam bricks, offering a balanced environment for both restful and active play.

Pre-Schoolers (3 to 5 years)
Our pre-school curriculum is crafted to prepare children for their transition to ‘big’ school. We focus on developing key skills such as literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking through a range of themed areas and activities. The large, open-plan space is divided into various sections, including a book corner, science exploration area, and creative arts zone. These areas are constantly updated to provide new experiences and challenges, ensuring that children remain engaged and motivated.

A special highlight of our pre-school program is our Nature Kindergarten sessions. These outdoor adventures allow children to connect with the natural world, fostering a sense of curiosity and respect for the environment. Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, children learn about nature, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of their surroundings.

Personalised Learning Journeys
At Cherry Lodge, each child has their own Learning Journey file, a personal record of their achievements and experiences. This file includes observations, artwork, and photographs that capture their progress and growth. It’s a wonderful keepsake for families and a valuable tool for tracking each child’s development throughout their time with us.

Parent Involvement
We value the role of parents in our curriculum and encourage open communication. Regular updates and parent-teacher meetings provide insights into your child’s development and how you can support their learning at home. We believe that a strong partnership between home and nursery enhances the overall learning experience for your child.

Our curriculum at Cherry Lodge is designed to provide a rich, engaging, and supportive learning environment. From sensory play for infants to themed learning for pre-schoolers, we strive to create a place where every child can thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning. We look forward to welcoming your child and being a part of their exciting early education journey.
